Tired of trying to teach grandma how to use Whatsapp? In South Korea, one of the world’s most technologically advanced countries, there is still a knowledge gap between young and old people.

This has only widened as the pandemic increased reliance on touch-free technology. To help the older generation stay connected to their families, the Seoul Digital Foundation has deployed 3,000 robots to help them learn how to use popular messaging apps. While it may seem counterintuitive to use robots to teach someone technology, the benefit is that robots don’t get impatient when they have to explain what an app is for the 50th or 500th time!
