A vibrant and dynamic evolution of an existing brand

The brief:
Following the appointment of TYC, V8 Gourmet Group asked the team to give the Indian restaurant a new look across its 4 sites in London as as part of the expansion plans for Bombay Bicycle brand.
For the first site on Kings Road, it was important that the restaurant felt part of the same family as the newly designed Delivery Kitchen whilst ensuring it was appropriate for the local demographics. It was also key that the restaurant incorporated a Delivery Kitchen without disturbing the dining customers. Having been given a low budget the challenge was set.
The approach:
After studying the Delivery Kitchens and the local surroundings of the restaurant the starting point was to address the branding and colour palette. Though the Delivery Kitchens look great in striking fushia pink this didn't quite fit with the setting and we agreed that a tweak was needed to soften and sophicate the brand for the restaurant. The existing space was quite cold and lacked any areas of interest or focus points. The key spend on the fitout was within these areas to create a space that is memorable and interesting. Key areas are the fascia, entrance welcome area, the central mural wall, the spice artwork and the pink uplight to soften the space.
The outcome:
An eye-catching space that attracts the users of the Kings Road and provides a comfortable environment for casual dining. Even on the low budget the restaurant has had a new lease of life and we look forward to seeing how it performs over the next few months. This design will now be rolled out to the other 3 sites, Holland Park, Hampstead and Balham.
