Winner: All Saints
BEST USE OF MATERIALS: Awarded to a store that has used materials in an innovative and unique way that stimulates the senses.
How refreshing it is to see a store that’s a stark-contrast to its super-slick neighbours.
The new All Saints store may be a simple evolution of its existing formats but its inclusion in Westfield goes to show how different they are as a brand.
Their concoction of materials is literally an assault on the senses. The smoothness of the glass is instantly contrasted with the exposed grubby brickwork, rough concrete and rusty steelwork.
The selection of materials, although seemingly contrived pays homage to their original roots, the warehouses of Spitafields. Mixed with the deformed mannequins, beautiful old Singer sewing machines and film-set style lighting the space feels more like a stage than a store.
From ram skulls to glass encasement, the store puts itself out there to be judged by all…congratulations on creating a masterpiece!
