Winner: Benugo
BEST FOOD SERVERY: Awarded to the one who stopped us in our tracks and made us refill.
In contrast to the larger chains of Coffee shops, Benugo eschews cosy fabrics and contrasting timbers in favour of a clean, white kitchen-like approach to the interior. The only real colour comes from the vast array of fresh fruit, veg and meats on display in the glass-fronted deli-displays. Everything in here is fresh and colourful and that’s what shouts out.
The store itself is such a simple, logical layout with everything you could possibly want laid out before you and you can actually see what you’re getting rather than making do with a glossy photograph of one they prepared earlier.
Rather than graphics covering the walls there’s a simple blackboard menu behind the counter. The price of displayed food is chalked-up on the glass in front giving a very fresh approach, which, with the simplicity of layout is a winner!
